As the holiday season gets into full swing, public health officials are advising the public to stay up-to-date on their vaccinations for COVID-19, flu and RSV and to stay home if unwell, among other recommendations.
“We are seeing an uptick in the number of people with respiratory illness and encourage people to stay updated with available vaccines to protect against severe symptoms,” said Karina Rusk, Salinas Valley Health spokeswoman. “It’s especially important with holiday travel and family gatherings. Respiratory Syncytial Virus, commonly known as RSV, is a concern for both the adult and pediatric population.”
