Meadow Brook Hall, a historic mansion in Rochester Hills, reopens this Saturday for public touring.   Located on the Oakland University campus, this National Historic Landmark will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., admitting the last visitors by 3 p.m. Guests can stroll through all levels of the mansion as well as outdoor pathways with self-guided tours through a new touring app.  Matilda Dodge Wilson, widow of auto pioneer John Dodge, built this home from 1926 to 1929. Oakland University’s Board of Trustees have approved a schematic design and budget to expand one of the institution’s classroom buildings on campus. A $45 million renovation is planned for the five-story Varner Hall. The building houses several academic departments, administration offices, classrooms and the university’s main performance space and recital hall. It was originally built in 1971 and cost about $4.8 million to construct. Recent estimates found that the building has a deferred maintenance repair cost of $27.5 million.
