A MIDDLESBROUGH councillor says he is “pushing as hard as he can” for footpath improvements after residents claimed they were taking their lives into their hands attempting to cross a busy roundabout. Cllr David Coupe said he understood the frustration being expressed by residents in his Stainton ward who have complained about the lack of a continuous pedestrian route through to Brookfield and Acklam with some choosing to cross a busy slip road onto the A174 Parkway, which leads off the Stainton Way/Low Lane roundabout.
