Happy inspiring update to a personal story we have been following in ukraine. last week i spoke with an american father. you may remember him. his twin sons were born seven weeks premature on the day of the invasion. they are in a polish hospital. the rescue operation was dramatic and spearheaded by a military veteran who specializes in rescue at risk people from war zones. it's an incredible story. i spoke earlier with the boy's father and bryan stern who got the twins out of ukraine safely about the dangerous journey. i began asking what it felt like when he was finally able to hold his sons...

Bryan stern, co-founder of project dynamo. he has the father of the twins with him. great to see you. it has been a while since we've seen somebody smile. fantastic news there. bryan, how did you do it? >> it was hard. definitely a team sport. we had a lot of medical fire power behind us, a lot of organization, a lot of planning and talking and we knew we were going to succeed but it was definitely a hard-fought win that's for sure. >> dana: where were three you were able to get them out? >> there were two hospitals, the boys were in one hospital and another little girl was in another hospital...

An 8-day-old baby boy is safe in Poland with his parents after a group of volunteers rescued the infant from war-torn Ukraine, according to Project Dynamo, an American non-profit rescue organization based in Tampa. 

As the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine continues to unfold, a newborn Canadian baby born to a Ukrainian surrogate has been safely evacuated from the country and united with his parents.

A Tampa-based nonprofit is continuing its rescue missions in Ukraine and successfully helped get an American combat veteran to safety.
