The Racers managed to outlast Southern Illinois University in an 11-inning contest that resulted in a 5-4 victory for the Racers. While the Bruins took two of the three games in a weekend series on April 17-18, the Racers were able to equalize the slate with a 4-3 climactic win. In three of the four games, Morehead State’s offense was able to overpower the Racers, but an explosion at the plate from redshirt junior center fielder Jake Slunder helped Murray State capture a game three victory.
