TILTONSVILLE — The Buckeye Local School District will soon begin accepting bids for an estimated $600,000 project to fix water damage caused by flooding at Buckeye South Elementary last fall. Superintendent Kim Leonard on Thursday said the project’s architect, Rob Renzi, is expected to provide final plans to the district by the end of this month. The district hopes to begin accepting bids April 6 and close the bidding by April 27.

Abisalih. -- Contributed TILTONSVILLE — Students at Buckeye South Elementary had a special treat on Feb. 3 as they hosted the Wheeling Nailers in a virtual visit to their classroom. Nailers broadcaster D.J. Abisalih, forward Luke Lynch and defenseman Aaron Trow spoke to three students in special education teacher Alyssa Lollini’s class online since the school goes remote each Wednesday. Lollini instructs six students in grades K-4 but held the event for her older students as a fun way to interact with community members while also following COVID safety protocols.
