Cascade County Commission approves contract for roof repairs

Cascade County Commissioners unanimously approved the tentative interim budget for the fiscal year 2022 and approved the $1.4 million contract bid for the roof repair of the Adult Detention Center during their meeting Tuesday morning.
The $71.4 million interim operating budget was approved by the commissioners to fund ongoing operations until the final budget is passed in September, which will involve budget hearings and the formal adoption of the budget.
County Budget Officer Mary Embleton explained at the top of her remarks that Cascade County s fiscal year begins July 1 of every year, however, the final budget and the determination of mill levies cannot be completed until after the certified taxable values are received from the Montana Department of Revenue. ....
