Anheuser-Busch InBev (Ab InBev), the world's largest beer company, has offered to invest Rs 400 crore to expand its brewery operations in Karnataka, India. The company sees Karnataka as an ideal location for its operations and already has a brewery in Mysuru and a capability center in Whitefield. Budweiser Apac: Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's largest beer company, has urged India to lower beer taxes to boost demand. The company has invested $1.5 billion in India over the last decade and pays nearly $500 million annually in tax payments. India is now the fourth largest market for Budweiser globally by volume sales, with premium brands contributing to two-thirds of its total sales.

"There has been a very stable business environment and good investment climate in India and we have seen solid GDP growth numbers. So of course, it encouraged India to move up the ranks in terms of investment priorities. If we can create contexts that is more predictable, ideally lower taxes on alcohol for beer, it would make it a very strong case ," Craps said.
