Buffalo State College's Great Lakes Center is the recipient of more than $3 million to fund research on benthic invertebrates, such as zooplankton, and mysid crustaceans in the Great Lakes.
The college said it has found no evidence that suggests the threat is credible but authorities continue to investigate. All classes Friday are canceled and classes will resume after spring break on April 4.
Residential students were asked to return to residence hall rooms, commuter students were asked to leave campus and all non-essential employees were dismissed. The college said those unable to leave campus should go to the sports arena.
