Balfour Beatty lands £52m HS2 contract Balfour Beatty has landed a £52m contract for HS2’s phase 2a. The contractor has won the early environmental works contract for the route between Birmingham and Crewe – the first to be signed since parliament approved the leg in February. Works involve creating new woods as wetlands as part of the megaproject’s environmental mitigation efforts.
