OGDENSBURG The City of Ogdensburg has promoted firefighters Jayson K. Smith and Scott A. McCormick to Fire Captain effective May 15, 2021.
Captain Smith began his firefighting career with the Ogdensburg Fire Department in March, 1999 and is currently an EMT, a leader of the confined space rescue team, a pumper service testing expert and a field service technician for Scott Air breathing apparatus. Captain Smith is married to his wife Nancy and has one child, Gwen Hardy. He will be assigned to Shift 4.
Captain McCormick began his firefighting career with the Ogdensburg Fire Department in November, 2011 and is currently an EMT, Building Safety Inspector, American Heart Association CPR/First Aid instructor and a leader of the fire prevention team. Captain McCormick is married to his wife Tisha and has two children, Justyn and Natalie McCormick. He will be assigned as Captain on Shift 3. ....
