Syria’s main insurgent al-Qaeda-linked group denied it was behind the killing of ISIS group's leader in the country’s northwest saying it would have otherwise claimed responsibility. The security arm of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, or HTS, made the announcement Friday night, a day after ISIS blamed the Syrian insurgent group for the death of its little-known leader, Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurayshi, who headed the extremist organization since November.

The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi held a meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in New Alamein City, northwest Egypt, on the latter’s first visit to the region after his re-election and the formation of a new Greek new government. The Egyptian-Greek summit focused on ways to promote bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries. Egyptian presidential spokesman, Ahmed Fahmy, said the two leaders exchanged views on regional issues of common interest in light of the two states' common positions in the Eastern Mediterranean region.

Israeli forces shot dead an 18-year-old Palestinian during a raid in the occupied West Bank on Friday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said, amid one of the deadliest periods in years. The Israeli military said soldiers shot at suspects who fired and hurled explosives and stones at troops operating around the northern West Bank city of Tulkarm. It said one person was hit but reported no injuries to its forces.
