Geelong remain without a win to start the AFLW season as they fell by 29 points to St Kilda.
Key points:
Kate Shierlaw put in a contender for goal-of-the-year
Geelong are still winless after four rounds of the competition
The Saints were tested early at Moorabbin Oval, but ran away with the contest in the third term to win 7.9 (51) to 3.4 (22) on Friday night.
The Cats controlled parts of the first half in general play but could not put that dominance on the scoreboard as they wasted multiple opportunities.

After three rounds of the 2021 AFL Women’s season, the Brisbane Lions, Collingwood, Fremantle and Melbourne are undefeated.
Down at the other end of the ladder, Richmond, the West Coast Eagles, Gold Coast Suns and Geelong Cats are still yet to get off the mark.
The Eagles’ bid to break their duck does not get any easier when they make a second straight trip east to face the Giants in Sydney, while the Crows will try to bring down the top-of-the-table Lions in the Sunshine Capital.

Round one of the AFLW season is in the books, and the opening seven games provided a welcome return to football after an absence of nearly 11 months.
With no expansion teams added for 2021, the focus was on the existing 14 teams, and how much improvement could be seen nearly a full year after the previous season was shut down because of COVID.

Ten months after the 2020 AFL Women’s season was abruptly ended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fifth edition of AFL Women’s will get underway this weekend, with several teams out to complete their “unfinished business”.
In March last year, the AFL sought to accelerate the end of the season by scrapping the final two rounds of the regular season, and immediately starting the finals series featuring the top four teams from each of the two conference systems.

The 2021 AFLW season is only a few weeks away and will enter uncharted territory given the lack of a winner in 2020 and the remaining COVID-19 restrictions.
Here’s 10 questions that will form the backbone of how the season unfolds.
1. Can anyone stop North Melbourne’s midfield?
To win the flag this year, you’re going to have to go through this North Melbourne midfield unit.
The dominance of quartet Jasmine Garner, Emma Kearney, Ash Riddell and Jenna Bruton was so complete across the Kangaroos’ five 2020 wins that all four finished in the top 12 of the AFL Coaches Association votes. They also have All-Australian calibre ruck Emma King at their disposal as well.

The AFLW season is less than a month away and while there’s still a lot to learn about all 14 clubs as they ramp up training in January, it’s worth looking at what we know so far.
Here’s a club-by-club at a glance preview of where your team sits heading into the 2021 season and everything you need to know.
Adelaide
Adelaide’s 2020 season was derailed by injuries to key players, missing finals altogether in Conference A, but the two-time premiership winners enter 2021 with renewed confidence. Co-captain Chelsea Randall returns from a torn ACL and superstar Erin Phillips is fully healthy after her own recovery from the same injury. They did however lose a few key players over the off-season, with Courtney Cramey, Jess Foley, Courtney Gum and Sophie Li retiring. Their list is filled with young talent ready to step up, including the likes of ruck Montana McKinnon and forward Teah Charlton and they still boast the premiership experience and stars that made them the best team of the first era of AFLW. The question will be whether their older guard has the means to carry them to another premiership.
