California State CIF not allowing Track & Field Regional Championships due to COVID-19 -

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – California State CIF is not allowing local regional Track & Field championships this year, due to COVID-19 concerns.
Even after nearly every other state saw safe and successful youth sports seasons and championships, State CIF “will not be hosting State Championships in swim & dive, track & field, and wrestling.”
Southern California Regional Championship events will be offered for baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, softball, tennis and boys volleyball.
As a result of State CIF’s decision, our track and field athletes are saddened to hear they will not be given the chance to become champions, something they have been dreaming of. ....
