Takers. imagine 911 call takers in a social media environment. and he finds when the public names and shames employees, in response, they do what you would expect them to do. they escape, they sometimes pass the buck, and some of them leave. and i think we re seeing some of that in the great resignation. and partly, the great attraction. we can find, if we re tired of dealing with these customers, let s find a job where we don t have to deal with them. here s the thing, ethan. many of these companies are making massive, massive profits. could they be doing more to help protect or even incentivize their workers on the front lines, right? every day, we re reading about airlines that are offering triple pay to their pilots, but those call center operators who have to talk to people who are waiting three, four, sometimes ten hours after their flights get canceled, those people aren t getting a dime more. sarah did a wonderful job of doing the first step, which is just making this known ....

WASHINGTON: A 32-year-old Indian national who played a key role in a telemarketing fraud scheme has been sentenced to two years in federal prison, the Department of Justice has said.
Manish Kumar, was arrested by FBI agents on August 24, 2019, as he deplaned in New York City from a flight from India and ordered detention in federal custody. He pleaded guilty on November 5, 2020, to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, four counts of wire fraud, and two counts of aggravated identity theft. ....

Bashing it. people are smart, they get the health premiums, see they re rocketing up. they see how tough it is to get doctor appointments or coverage for medicare with doctors that will accept that coverage. they see for themselves how life is changing. often times very quickly, often times with a high cost. yes, better late than never. of course, a lot of consequences were already in motion even before the ink was signed and all of the dire impact on not only their access to health care but the quality of health care that they do have left, everyone has someone they know whose doctor has decided to cut back or convert to concierge care, or who has nephews or granddaughters that decided they don t even want to go into the health care business at all given the miserable situation. so what s happening to the call center operators is a small part ....
