6000 chub and dace were released into the river Ivel at 3 locations. This benefited: Letchworth Garden City Angling Association at Henlow The Ivel Protection Association sites at Biggleswade Mill and Biggleswade Common. Brandon and District Angling Club also received 6,000 chub and dace these fish went into their stretch of the Little Ouse downstream of Brandon Staunch. 5,000 roach and 5,000 common bream were stocked into the Cambridge Fish Preservation and Angling Society stretch of the River Cam downstream of Baits Bite Lock. Fisheries officer, Chris Middleton, holding 2 fish during the restocking. These specific locations were chosen as they provided the most suitable habitat for juvenile fish. Also due to on-going joint habitat enhancement projects between the angling clubs and the Environment Agency’s local fisheries team. ....
Somerset rivers stocked with new supplies of fish by Environment Agency Somerset’s rivers have been restocked with fish this month by the Environment Agency. Officers from the Agency’s Bridgwater fisheries team have spent a busy day putting 2,900 fish into the River Sheppey and 1,450 into Marston Pond. The team also visited West Sedgemoor main drain to release another 1,259 fish. Earlier they re-stocked four other rivers and still waters including the Frome, Yeo, Bird’s Quarry and Rust Pond with various species including chub, roach, tench, barbel, dace, rudd, bream and crucian carp.
