On April 19, the political action committee spent $12,000 on advertising with an Austin firm to help Patrick Von Dohlen’s campaign against San Antonio City Council member John Courage, according to filings with the Texas Ethics Commission. The Family Association opposes the appointment of gays and lesbians to government positions, champions the anti-abortion movement and makes clear its choices on candidates and ballot issues.
