Data science firm Aretec, co-founded by Roby Luna ’04, has committed $100,000 to endow the Luna-Rivera SF Scholarship at the University of Rhode Island College of Business. The scholarship is intended to support underrepresented students studying data analytics or business artificial intelligence (AI).

David Martirano ’91, a partner at a Boston-based venture capital firm, has made a gift of $500,000 for financial aid and athletics at the University of Rhode Island. Half of the gift will create scholarships in the College of Business, and the other half will help to fund a basketball practice facility for the men’s and women’s Division I teams.
