Every eligible evacuated adult will receive $1,250 and an additional $500 will be available for each dependent child under the age of 18
The City of Calgary is helping the relief effort for those affected by the wildfires in central and northern Alberta, including sending personnel to help battle fires and opening a reception centre for fleeing residents.
By Monday morning, Alberta Wildfire reported 103 active wildfires in the province, including 27 out-of-control blazes, 19 that are being held and 57 that are under control.
