The Gwagwalada area council chairman in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Abubakar Jibrin Giri, has directed a group of hoodlums to attack all the residents and concerned citizens that participated in a protest against the bad state of infrastructure in the council. A human rights advocate, Manasseh Ben Paul, who was among the planners of the peaceful protest, revealed this in a post he made via X platform on Tuesday afternoon. He noted that the council chairman dispatched a gang of hoodlums to his residence and brutalised everyone they saw there.

The African Action Congress (AAC) has asked the Nigeria Police Force to immediately release the names of the officers who shot and killed the two Yoruba Nation agitators on Monday in Lagos State.  The Lagos State AAC governorship candidate, Akeem Olayiwola, called on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to compel the police to produce the names of the erring policemen.
