Cell phones have made a lot of things obsolete. I remember when I was a student at Canyon Junior High/. We would ask our math teacher why we needed to learn how to do a particular math function. I mean we have calculators. I remember being told we would not have a calculator with us all of the time.
It's no surprise that Texas should be its own state. After all these years there are many people that would vote for that to happen. We just do things differently here.
Our Town briefs All four Canyon bands earn Sweepstakes The Canyon High School Soaring Pride symphonic and honors bands recently made a Sweepstake rating at the UIL competition held in Bushland. The junior high bands also performed at UIL and both bands earned Sweepstakes awards. The directors are Ann Lough, director at Canyon Intermediate; Luis Hernandez, assistant director at Canyon High School; Eric Rath, CHS director; and Eric Perez, director at Canyon Junior High.
