IT services giant Wipro Ltd. announced CEO and Managing Director Thierry Delaporte has stepped down and will be replaced by Srinivas Pallia.
Wipro CEO: In a BSE filing on Saturday, Wipro said its Board noted the resignation of Delaporte with effect from April 6, 2024, and went on to add that he will be relieved from the employment of the company with effect from the close of business hours on May 31, 2024.
Wipro, which has trailed Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys and HCLTech over the past few years through a tortuous and incomplete turnaround, said late Saturday that its first expatriate chief executive Thierry Delaporte was leaving.
Srinivas Pallia has been with Wipro for over three decades and most recently served as the CEO for 'Americas 1' region,
While CEO exits are usually a negative surprise for various stakeholders, the writing has been on the wall for Wipro.
