Despite growing its student body by some 9,000 students in the past 15 years, the University of South Carolina’s on-campus housing has increased only a fraction of that amount. That leaves tens of thousands of USC students combing the city for housing each year, affecting downtown Columbia and the well-being of students themselves.
The university is evaluating underdeveloped property and aging facilities for student housing.
