"The hidden agenda is not so much clean air or environment, but benefiting for-profit investors, piggybacking on funding assistance from taxpayer money to pressure and acquire landowner easements for low-ball money," write Allen and Sue Briese of Fergus Falls, Minn. "These easements destroy land and creates a new silent enemy for residents: the threat of line leakage or explosion."
