LOCATION: Swan Hotel turn off on A590 Readers have reacted after it was announced that a £150,000 scheme aims to improve safety on a stretch of the A590. Work is set to start next month to stop vehicles turning right onto the A590 from the bridge at the Swan Hotel at Newby Bridge. County councillor Sue Sanderson said she had been working to sort this "dangerous" situation for around six years as drivers in cars turning often find themselves stranded on a bend.
