A Dundee teenager is raising awareness of peer sexual abuse to help young people recognise the dangers of unhealthy relationships.
Fatima Ishaq, 16, is one of seven youths on the city’s Young Women Know campaign, aimed at promoting healthy relationships.
Run by NSPCC, YWCA Scotland – The Young Women’s Movement, and Dundee City Council, the campaign is designing toolkits which will be issued to schools nationwide. ....

The NSPCC are warning parents to look for the signs of online bullying
When children and young people play games online, it should be a fun experience and a time for them to be entertained, connect with friends and even learn new skills.
However, that’s not always the case, and some children may come across other players who are unkind and deliberately try to ruin the game for others.
Bullying can take place on most gaming platforms but it can be especially common in multiplayer games that let users play with people they don’t know, sometimes hundreds of players at the same time. ....

We know that the internet is a great tool for children to learn, play and share knowledge, but it is also a place where false information can be easily spread.
This week (Tuesday 9th) we marked Safer Internet Day, and this year’s theme is exploring the reliability of news in the online world.
With everything going on in the world at the moment, we’ve seen an increase in the spread of fake news, so there’s never been a better time to speak to your children about this issue. ....

NSPCC campaign launches to assist Govan families seeking help
GOVAN families are being encouraged to seek help with family advice in a brand new campaign by NSPCC.
All of Us Govan launches today with the aim of helping to break down barriers to help for South Side families looking for parenting advice or who have concerns about a child.
The campaign was created in partnership with local community groups such as Glasgow City Council, Home Start Glasgow South, Govan Community Project and Govan Help.
Carla Malseed, local campaigns manager for NSPCC Scotland, said: “We know that looking after a child can be challenging for all parents and carers at times, and it is so important that people feel they can seek support and know where to turn for help. ....
