Roy Turner, the executive director of the N.C. Athletic Directors Association, spoke to HighSchoolOT after a training session for athletic directors focused on safety and security of high school sports events. Turner said they hope to be proactive in preventing security incidents at high school sports events, but also provide best practices if something does happen.
