After several years of relatively disappointing snowpacks, there was no doubt that when hydrologist Jeff Anderson went to measure and weight the snow near the summit on Monday he was expecting big things.
The snowpack in the Carson Basin is at 234 percent of median and snowpack in the Walker Basin is 254 percent of median.
LAKE TAHOE, Nev. - The Mt. Rose Ski Area snowpack was measured Monday, showing a snow depth of 55", 24.2" water content, and 70 percent of the April 4 median, according to the Natural Resources Conservation Service of Nevada (NRCS). Jeff Anderson, NRCS hydrologist, was at Mt. Rose to conduct the manual monthly measurement.
