It was a heartbreaking end to the season on Tuesday for the Keota boys’ basketball team when they lost in the final seconds to Montezuma 53-51 in a class 1A district title game at Williamsburg High School. After getting blown out by 34 points in the regular season meeting last month, the Eagles made it evident early that this one would be a different story. Revenge is on the minds of the Keota Eagle boys basketball team when they take on Montezuma Tuesday for the class 1A district 11 championship. The Eagles are 20-2 on the season after completing a season sweep of North Mahaska Thursday with a 64-51 win at home. The Eagles were led in the game by Luke Hammen with 21 points, Brady Duwa and Carson Sprouse each added 11. Keota is ranked ninth in class 1A in the final Associated Press poll of the year.
