On Wednesday, former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was presented in court after the conclusion of his 14-day judicial remand.

The cricketer-turned-politician is charged with the violation of the Official Secrets Act in connection with the leakage of a confidential diplomatic cable from Pakistan's embassy in Washington.

Khan's party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), confirmed the extension of his remand. The hearing took place in Attock Jail, where Khan is currently held. Former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi's judicial remand was also extended until September 26. The trial is being conducted in jail due to security reasons, according to the law ministry.
