菲律賓近來武漢肺炎（新型冠狀病毒病，COVID-19）疫情嚴峻，不僅受到Delta變種病毒肆虐，15日更首現Lambda變種病毒株入侵！來自秘魯的Lambda變異毒株來勢洶洶，過去2個月內已擴散至全球至少33國。菲律賓衛生部15日在疫情簡報會宣布這項消息；此前，日本境內7月間也首現Lambda變種病毒株入侵，後來證實染疫者為秘魯入境的東京奧運相關人士。
