Local cities, counties to honor veterans with Memorial Day ceremonies
Hendersonville and Asheville as well as Buncombe and Transylvania counties will hold Memorial Day ceremonies. 
Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park will hold a ceremony on May 31 at 11 a.m. in the park at 538 Tracy Grove Road in Hendersonville. The ceremony is dedicated to Lt. Col. Alan Carroll Leonard.
An invocation will be followed by the singing of the national anthem by Calintha Cali McClintic, the Pledge of Allegiance, a flag-folding ceremony by the West Henderson High Falcon Battalion Army JROTC and a special presentation from Hendersonville City Councilman Jeff Miller. ....
