Officials with Rutherford County and Murfreesboro schools question low grades on new state report cards that follow proposed expansion of vouchers.

On Tuesday night, Rutherford County Board of Education voted to approve a school rezoning plan.

Dubbed Playter Gardens at the Market, the $25 million project would redevelop 2.4 acres of properties with affordable and supportive housing options, with services provided by the Matt Urban Center.

The seven-member Rutherford County Board of Education will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to choose a chairman and vice chairman to serve one-year terms.
