Estuary Festival set to return to Thurrock ESTUARY 2021 will take place over 23 days from 22 May, following its success in 2016. Produced by Metal Southend and Cement Fields in Kent, the multi-disciplinary festival will celebrate the history and landscape of the Thames Estuary. An imposing concrete sculpture is set to be built on Shoebury’s East Beach as part of a month-long arts festival. The 10ft structure - set to be a “sound mirror” - is being created from scratch by experts and will be showcased at the Estuary 2021 festival later in the year. Katrina Palmer, an artist from London, will be adapting the concrete design with a message on its surface as part of her “Hello” and “Retreat” contribution. The festival is inviting visitors to take part in a 107-mile long walk to celebrate the Thames Estuary in the 23-day event, starting on May 22.
