Polk county deputies are he was hit by a truck while riding his bike near his north lakeland home. So far its unclear if the driver of the truck that hit the boy will face charges. It happened just before five last nighton saddlewood boulevard off rockridge road. Deputies say Austin Crawford was riding his bike with his big sister near their house. When he turned into the road. A pickup truck hit the boy. A neighbor tried to save the boy by doing cpr. But he died. That neighbor says austin was a vibrant little boy who liked to talk and play. We dont know yet if speed was a people rarely follow the speed limit on this street. It appears that the driver is cooperating with deputies.
