Residents in many parts of Guwahati are facing water scarcity due to the delayed completion of the South Central Guwahati water project by GMC. Chandmari, Kharghuli, Chenikuthi, and Silpukhuri are among the areas affected by irregular water supply. The project, with a capacity of 191 million litres per day, is expected to benefit around 1.5 lakh households once fully operational.
