AYUTTHAYA: The Central Shrimp Market in Ayutthaya, the centre of a Covid-19 cluster in mid-April, was re-opened on Wednesday after being closed for nearly four weeks.
The market, on the main highway in tambon Hantra, Muang district, was ordered closed on April 17 after 43 people were found to have been infected with Covid-19 from about 10 shops selling grilled shrimp and fish there.
Governor Panu Yaemsri said on Wednesday the market had been disinfected and re-organised during the closure. Improvements had also been made to the market's infrastructure.

AYUTTHAYA: Authorities have ordered the closure of Wang Noi Muang Mai Market in Wang Noi district of Ayutthaya for three days of cleaning after three vendors tested positive for Covid-19.
Ayutthaya governor Phanu Yaemsri said on Wednesday that all zones of the market had been temporarily closed, from April 27 until April 29.
Mass testing of people who were at risk was already underway, with 600 tested so far. The  results were pending, the governor said.

AYUTTHAYA: The closure of Ayutthaya’s Central Shrimp Market has been extended for seven more days, with 43 people now confirmed to have caught Covid-19 there.
The communicable disease control committee on Tuesday resolved to extend the closure of the market in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district until May 4, after additional coronavirus infections were linked direcly to the marketplace, Ayutthaya governor Phanu Yaemsri said 
Infections were earlier detected among owners and employees of six seafood restaurants in the shrimp market. The number of seafood restaurants where infections have been reported has since risen to 10.

AYUTTHAYA: Twelve coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Ayutthaya province on Saturday, raising the total number of cases in this central province to 280.
Health authorities on Saturday reported that the 12 new cases were people who caught the disease at the Central Shrimp Market or were infected by family members.
The new infections raised the total number of the cases in the province from the latest outbreak to 280. Of them, 73 had recovered and 207 remained in hospitals.

AYUTTHAYA: Nineteen more Covid-19 cases were reported in Ayutthaya province on Friday, including three children, bringing the total number in this central province to 268.
Health officials said most of the 19 new cases were infected by family members, and one caught the disease at the Central Shrimp Market, which has been closed after people working there were found to be infected.
Three of the new cases are children aged 1, 6, and 10 years.
The six-year-old boy, patient No.255, was infected by his father in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district; the year-old girl, patient No.262, caught the disease from her mother in Maharat district; and the10-year-old girl, patient No 266, was infected by her aunt in Maharat district.

AYUTTHAYA: Twenty-four new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Ayutthaya, including a 2-year-old girl infected at the Central Shrimp Market, raising the total number of cases in the province from the latest outbreak to 249.
Provincial authorities on Thursday reported that the 24 cases were people who caught the disease at the shrimp market or were infected by family members and since confirmed cases.
Three caught the virus at the market  - two women, aged 30 and 40 years, and a girl aged 2, all from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district.

AYUTTHAYA: People who visited the Central Shrimp Market in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district during March 30-April 15 are urged to get a Covid-19 test at the market on Sunday from 8.00am-2.00pm free of charge, provincial governor Panu Yaemsri announced.
The market has been ordered closed since Saturday after at least 17 people were reported to have contracted the virus from people working there.
A major clean up of the market was carried out on Saturday, with trucks deployed to spray disinfectant in the area which covers about 10 rai.

AYUTTHAYA: The Central Shrimp Market in Ayutthaya has been ordered closed until Sunday after at least 17 people were believed to have contracted Covid-19 from people working there.
Health officials will conduct coronavirus tests at the market on Sunday, targeting some 300 people who work there. All shops and stalls there will be closed for the day, said the provincial administration organisation, which supervises the site.
