A federal district court on Wednesday sentenced a former Amazon employee to 16 years in jail for millions in fraud against the tech giant, according to officials.
Two Amazon workers went on a spending spree, buying real estate, diamond jewellery and several luxury cars, after stealing US$9.4mil (RM41.05mil) from the company in a matter of months, federal prosecutors say.
The court said the Smyrna, Georgia, employees spent the money on themselves, buying cars, jewelry and homes.
