North Carolina is very geographically diverse, which makes an ideal place for growing produce. "We have mountains in the western part of the state, rolling hills/Piedmont in the central part of the state and sandy pine woods and coastal plains stretching down the beaches in the eastern part of the state," said Seth Grant part of the sales team at Flavor 1st Growers & Packers based in Mills River, NC.
Vick Family Farms has been busy leading up to early May, preparing for planting.
Vick Family Farms is thrilled to be celebrating finally being back in person for the upcoming IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show, exhibiting behind booth. No. 4358, and returning to the former PMA show for its 15th year.
Around May 10, planting season for sweet potatoes began at Vick Family Farms, and though things have been cooler than normal, some rain is expected to help with planting. “We have great customers all across the United States, and in many countries across the world,” said Charlotte D. Vick, partner/sales and marketing manager for the Wilson, NC-based company. “We have built strong relationships that we value so much and continue to work with each of them to grow their sweet potato sales.”

The climate and soil of North Carolina makes it the ideal ground for a variety of produce items.
