Two crew members of an Antarctic supply ship donned "fire suits" to battle a blaze on board, with the rest of the crew spending three hours on deck in the Southern Ocean, a report has revealed.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau's preliminary report into the April 5 fire in the MPV Everest's port engine room has found staff noticed flames erupting about 90 minutes after a routine fuel transfer started.
