The mandate, which went into effect on Oct. 19, has been effective in reducing cases of COVID-19, according to Chelsey Matter, president of the Fargo Cass Public Health Board of Health, who recently told city commissioners in a letter that they should extend the mask mandate beyond its expiration date of Thursday, Feb. 18.
