CHICO, Calif. - Some councilmembers in Chico and a few Butte County Supervisors are facing claims they met in secret to troubleshoot the homeless shelter situation.
The ACLU Foundation of Northern California is accusing Chico Mayor, Andrew Coolidge, and councilmembers, Sean Morgan and Kasey Reynolds, of meeting secretly with Butte County Supervisors, Tod Kimmelshue and Tami Ritter, among other city staff members.

CHICO, Calif. - The City of Chico has adjusted its previous budget to allow for new hires at the police department during the pandemic. The four positions we allowed to unfreeze for hiring was animal shelter staff, dispatch, park rangers, and police officers as well, said Chico Mayor, Andrew Coolidge. We want to make sure we fill these positions because of their essential nature.
