　　Astra跟Space X或Rocket Lab等现有选择相比，Astra模型使用的航天器更小，但Astra以相对较低的成本提供响应迅速、短期周转的发射服务。ASTR致力于发射小型火箭，希望在2025年之前实现每天发射一次的小目标。为了这个目标，ASTR从苹果、特斯拉和蓝色起源招纳了大批领导者。
　　在2020年12月，ASTR发射了Rocket 3.2，火箭返回时离轨道差点距离；ASTR有信心，下次发射Rocket 3.3时，就可以带人上天了，目前Rocket 3.3还处于测试环境中，预计这个夏天发射。Astra 的CEO Chris Kemp计划在2022年实现一年发射15次的目标。
　　此外，Astra拥有超过50个发射场，涵盖了NASA和DOD等10多个私人和公共客户，Astra的预定发射收入超过1.5亿美元，其中公司客户包括美国NASA和美国国防部等10家企业和政府机构。
