Real estate market continues upwards climb

Prince Albert Daily Herald
The construction industry is facing a persistent downturn province-wide.
Real estate markets, including in Prince Albert, are continuing to improve, the Saskatchewan Realtors Association (SRA) said Thursday.
The association sent out their monthly home sales data report, which showed more houses selling for more money after spending less time on the market.
The latest data showed the sales volume in the city up 51.5 per cent compared to last May, rising from $8.2 million to $12.5 million. The sales volume in the greater Prince Albert region rose by even more.
Year-to-date sales are up 100 per cent in the city, and 115 per cent in the region. ....

Saskatchewan sees record home sales in March

Real estate in Saskatchewan continues to boom during the pandemic, setting yet another sales record in March.
The Saskatchewan Realtors Association (SRA) says home sales in March were up 85 percent from last year, while inventories were down.
Economic Analyst Chris Gbekorbu says having low inventory is actually helping the market.
“We’ve got lower inventory, so there’s less houses available out on the market at the moment,” said Gbekorbu. “Part of the reason why we’re seeing a lot of sales happening is that people realize that there aren’t as many homes out there right now, they’re kind of getting snapped up, so now might be a good time to start buying.” ....

Property sales and prices continue to climb in P.A.

Prince Albert is following the upward trend in housing sales being seen across the province as the market keeps rebounding from the difficult start to the pandemic last year.
According to the latest statistics from the Saskatchewan Realtors’ Association (SRA), 134 homes have sold in P.A. over the first three months of this year, compared to 57 properties sold over the same period in 2020.
The March figures put the benchmark price of a house in P.A. at just over $183,100, which is up over 12 per cent compared to this time last year when the price was $163,400.
“We’ve never seen a March like this before,” Chris Gbekorbu, SRA economic analyst said in a media release when commenting on the province-wide stats. “In fact, we typically don’t see this level of sales until at least May. And until June of last year, we hadn’t seen this level of sales since May of 2014.” ....
