my name is christine halle, i m a vietnamese chef from houston, texas. i m actually grandma trained home cook. so i grew up in my grandmother s kitchen. peeling union, pounding things with mortar and pestle. not my mom who was a vietnamese refugee cooked a lot of great home cooked meals. it wasn t until she passed away when i was a teenager that i started feeling nostalgic for food. i decided i wanted to teach myself a lot of the dishes that i grew up eating. for the first course i will be making a burmese noodle dish which is a coconut noodle soup. it will have seared scallops, quail eggs, crispy noodles, and all the beautiful garnishes on top. it is actually my grandmother s recipe. my grandmother s my biggest culinary idle. she always said that cooking ....
