This past Saturday, the Washington University men’s soccer team (7-8-1) went head-to-head with the University of Chicago Maroons (9-2-5) in the last game of their 2023 season. While the Bears fought hard against the Maroons, they were unable to score. The Maroons, ranked 21st in national rankings and second in the UAA conference, won the game 2-0.
As Clarke mentioned, the WashU men’s soccer team has had a rocky, unprecedented start to the UAA conference this season. This past weekend, however, the WashU reversed their losing streak, winning both games against UAA rivals by a decisive margin.
The Washington University men’s soccer team (2-1-1) continued their out-of-conference season with mixed results, convincingly defeating Principia College on Thursday evening and drawing with Aurora University on Sunday afternoon. While the Bears exploded for five goals against Principia, WashU’s failure to convert opportunities and controversial penalties hindered their chance to sweep their weekend series.
