Arturo Fuente Naked Kings – halfwheel - Vimarsana News

Arturo Fuente Naked Kings – halfwheel

Release Date: December 2020 Number of Cigars Smoked For Review: 3 For having the word naked in its name, the Arturo Fuente Naked Kings is decently dressed, wearing the standard Fuente Rosado Gran Reserva primary band as well as a red ribbon for a foot band. I’m not totally sure this is intentional but the cigar has a bit of a press to it and as such has a slightly oval shape. As for the wrapper leaf, there are moments I look at it and think I catch a more rosado hue to it, with a bit of red seeming to emerge, yet when I look at it straight on, I don’t see it quite as vividly. That said, i...

Asylum 13 20 Minute Toms – halfwheel

Release Date: November 2020 Number of Cigars Smoked For Review: 3 I’m not sure that I would look at the Asylum 13 Twenty Minute Toms and immediately think it’s a 20-minute cigar, maybe something closer to 40 minutes, but we shall see. Between the cigar and the band, there is a lot of brown to take in, and the band reminds me a bit of Louis Vuitton leather with its color and embossing. The wrapper has a bit of mottling, but it’s nothing out of the ordinary. It is a firmly rolled cigar, free from any visual distractions and capped off well. The foot has aromas of fragrant soil, a bit of c...

Davidoff Limited Edition Robusto Intenso (2005) – halfwheel - Vimarsana News

Davidoff Limited Edition Robusto Intenso (2005) – halfwheel

Release Date: 2005 Number of Cigars Smoked For Review: 1 Visually, the Davidoff Robusto Intenso is covered in a pale, golden brown wrapper that is almost totally devoid of oil, although that does not stop it from being excessively smooth to the touch. The cigar does feature a noticeable soft spot halfway between the secondary band and the foot and is nicely firm when squeezed. Aroma from the wrapper and foot is a combination of aged cedar, old hay, dark chocolate, earth, day-old coffee and a touch of floral flavors, while the cold draw brings flavors of the same aged cedar, creamy peanuts, co...

La Corona Corona – halfwheel - Vimarsana News

La Corona Corona – halfwheel

Number of Cigars Smoked For Review: 1 There aren’t many obvious signs that this is an old cigar. Even the band doesn’t show a ton of age, though there are some signs of discoloration on the back of it. The wrapper is decently dark with a pretty firm box-press. Once I pick up the cigars, it’s apparent that this cigar has pretty much no oil and the cigar itself is rock hard. Given that this cigar has been in our humidor since April, I’m quite concerned about how it was stored over time. Upon closer inspection, the cigar is bent in a couple of directions, something that isn’t entirely ...

Room101 Death Bucket 2 – halfwheel - Vimarsana News

Room101 Death Bucket 2 – halfwheel

Number of Cigars Smoked For Review: 3 I’m not sure what else one could really focus on when looking at the Room101 Death Bucket 2 other than the band, and I will admit, it is eye-catching and done well, even if not embossed or treated with shiny gold ink. In holding two of the samples, the fingers get a generally smooth, slightly oily feel from the wrapper, which also shows off a bit of its elasticity. Veins are incredibly small, tooth is nonexistent, and the color is a very well-tanned shade that reminds me of nuts or toffee depending on the sample and lighting. The only knock on the leaf ...
