Michael Daniel Ryan 89, of Mitchell, passed away on Nov. 22, 2020. Born on Dec. 18, 1931 in Sioux Falls, he attended public schools there and was a representative to South Dakota Boys State in the summer of 1948 where he received the outstanding citizen award and then was sent to the Boys Forum of National Government in Washington D.C. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and went to Japan and Germany, receiving an honorable discharge in 1955 when he enrolled at Augustana College in Sioux Falls.
