Man says drug testing center wrongly said he failed a drug test

CHARLESTON A Powellton man is suing LNK LLC after he claims they mishandled his urine specimen and wrongly said he failed a drug test.
LNK LLC is doing business as Drug Testing Centers of America. Clinical Reference Laboratory Inc. was also named as a defendant in the suit.
James Blankenship went to the defendants location on Aug. 17 for drug testing protocol that was part of his regular employment and after providing the urine sample, he was told the urine was too clear and could not be used.
He claims he offered a second sample, but was told the first sample was adequate after speaking with two unknown people, so Blankenship then began to leave, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court. ....

Kanawha County lost a judicial giant Monday when Circuit Judge Charles King died. He was 73.
A Charleston native and West Virginia University alumnus, King served as an officer in the U.S. Army, receiving an honorable discharge at the rank of captain. He was elected Kanawha County prosecutor in 1984, and served four years, successfully running for circuit court judge in 1988. King was reelected each time he was on the ballot, most recently in 2016.
King’s legacy is one of fair jurisprudence, even temperament — with an occasional lean toward levity — and the utmost respect for the law, to which all good judges aspire. He also had a strong, positive influence on the legal community, from attorneys to justices of the West Virginia Supreme Court. ....
