A special city council meeting will take place Thursday prompted by the homeless encampment set up around Regina's city hall, the city said on Wednesday.
"While we know the City of Regina doesn’t have the budget to deal with homelessness, it does have the power," writes Merilee Rasmussen.
The Uasin Gishu county government has allocated KSh 50 million towards the event and has also established a steering committee to spearhead the preparation.
The City of Regina has appointed a new city solicitor to temporarily fill the critical administrative position when it falls vacant next week.
